Time Management Tip #1. Schedule Routine Tasks
Set aside an hour a week to pay bills, write letters or cards, send invoices, and do any other routine paperwork tasks that can easily get overlooked during a busy week. Put this on your calendar so you don’t forget it.
Time Management Tip #2. Just Say No
Yes, we remind you of this one a lot. But there are times in our lives that we all just have to say NO. The truth is that we can all get caught up in the yes trap – because we care about others and want to be supportive. (And this is especially true if we work for ourselves – because others seem to assume that we’re “free”… FREE??? So it’s vital to say no… a lot!
Saying yes when you should say no can produce tons of stress, and that is far more than distracting, it’s destructive. This week, don’t agree to anything that doesn’t directly benefit you. Once you feel as if you’re in control of your time instead of outside influences being in charge, you can say yes again.
Time Management Tip #3. Schedule Time for YOU
Is it important to set aside time for yourself – even if the last thing you really have to spare is time. Everyone needs some down time to regroup and recharge in order not to overwhelm themselves. And remember that a healthy lifestyle includes socializing. These are great ways to be productive and socialize at the same time. Consider joining an organization that could potentially move your business forward, but could still give you some much needed camaraderie and perhaps even a few laughs!
